Please Note: UPS or FedEx charges $15.00 for any wrong or incomplete address. If your shipping address is wrong or incomplete (please make sure to enter any apartment or suite number if any) and we are charged this amount by the carrier, we will charge your credit card with this amount. You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase Estes Rockets. Orders from or to destinations outside of the US, its territories, possessions, APO and FPO addresses are not accepted. Please do not place orders from these destinations.
STATE SPECIFIC REGULATIONS for Estes Rockets
Model rocketry is a legally permitted activity in every state in the U.S. However, four states have laws and regulations that specify certain age or permit requirements.
In California one must be at least 14 years of age to purchase model rocket engines through size “D” and must be 18 years of age to purchase larger model rocket engines. Children as young as 12 years of age may receive and use model rocket engines under adult supervision while participating in a bona fide educational program. Permission of the landowner or local fire marshal may be required before launching. Many areas have pre-approved launch sites and times. It is also important to remember that a small number of counties and municipalities in California have ordinances that are more restrictive than state laws and regulations. Due to the sheer volume we are unable to track local ordinances.
In New Jersey one must be at least 14 years of age to purchase model rocket engines through size “C” and must be 18 years of age to purchase larger model rocket engines. Children as young as 12 years of age may launch model rocket engines under adult supervision while participating in a bona fide educational program.
In Rhode Island, a permit is required to sell model rocket engines at retail. A permit is also required to purchase and use model rocket engines. One must be at least 14 years of age to purchase model rocket engines and if not yet 18 years of age must have a Certificate of Consent. Check with your local fire marshal for a copy of the regulations and to apply for a permit.
In North Dakota one must be at least 10 years of age to purchase model rocket engines through size “D” and must be 14 years of age to purchase larger model rocket engines. Verbal or written authorization of the local fire marshal and landowner are required before launching. Launching and recovery areas may not be located within 5 miles of any airport without permission from the appropriate authority.
SHIPPING Estes Rockets
Products containing igniters, mini engines, regular and/or D engines ship USPS Parcel Post Surface Mail only. A postal delivery address is required.
Products containing E and larger engines ship UPS or FEDEX ground only and HAZMAT charges do apply. A street address is required.
Estes model rocketry is recommended for those ages 12 years and up. Adult supervision is recommended for those under 12 years of age. Unless otherwise specified all models require assembly. Engine(s), launch system, construction tools, glue and finishing supplies are not included with model rocket kits unless specified otherwise.
Estes model rocket engines size E and larger as well as the rockets that use them are recommended for those ages 18 years and older.
USE ONLY WITH ESTES PRODUCTS Caution: Use of any Estes product with any other brand-name rocket product containing any defect or causing any damage may void the Estes warranty.
90 DAY LIMITED WARRANTY for Estes Rockets Only
Do not return your Estes product to the store or to the website. Estes will repair or replace factory defects for 90 days from date of purchase. This warranty specifically does not cover crash damage or abuse!
For fast courteous service, if you find a defect or a part is missing, please contact Estes Customer Service using the contact form at estesrockets.com or call 1-800-525-7561. Call Monday through Thursday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Mountain Time.
Obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from Estes Customer Service before returning a defective part or product. Any part or product returned to Estes without a RMA number clearly marked on the shipping label will not be accepted. Send only the defective part(s). Additional charges may apply if you send more than is authorized. Ship returns to: Estes-Cox Corporation, 1295 H St, PO Box 227, Penrose, CO 81240-0227.
This warranty applies only if the product is operated in accordance with the instructions and warnings provided with each model. Estes-Cox assumes no liability except for the exclusive remedy of repair or replacement of parts as specified above. Estes shall not be liable for consequential or incidental damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages so the above exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights and you may also have other rights which vary from state to state.
General Terms and Conditions
U.S. Domestic Shipments
We accept many forms of payment including Visa / MasterCard / American Express / Discover Card / Money Orders / Cashiers Checks.
International Shipments ( Including Canada )

We are not responsible for any Customs Duties, Taxes or Fees that may be incurred. We are also not responsible for any brokerage fees which may be incurred to clear your shipment through Customs.
We pack and ship all the products very carefully, and are delivered to the carrier in good condition. If the shipment is received damaged please email to us within 3 days from the date of receipt of the products.
If you do receive the shipment in damaged condition, please follow the below steps:
1. Keep the original packing in which it came in, including the packing material and outer shipping box for inspection.
2. Email us at [email protected] immediately giving us your full name, address, phone number, email address, time to call, products purchased and what was the damage to the shipment. All the shipments are sent insured for value.
3. We will call UPS / FedEx for the carrier and arrange for inspection.
4. We will inform you the result and report of the inspection.
5. We will either repair or replace the product depending on the damage.
We process your order in the shortest time as possible.
Sales tax will be charged for all Florida sales / shipments. For all other states, sales are tax free.
1. If you want to return a product for any reason, please email us your full name, address, phone number, email address, time to call, products purchased. We will email you a return authorization number. Please contact us within 7 days of receiving the merchandize, and ship the merchandize back to us within 10 days of receiving the merchandize. No returns will be accepted after 7 days of delivery.
2. Returned merchandize will be accepted for refund only if the products are absolutely unused, in their original packing in good condition, so that they can be re-sold.
3. There will be a re-stocking fee of 25% of the value of the products, and any Credit Card or any other charges incurred from the sale, will also be deducted, for all returns. Shipping and handling charges will not be refunded, shipping the merchandize back to us will be your responsibility and you will be responsible for the shipping charges. When shipping back to us we would advise using a carrier, where you can trace your shipment and the carrier can provide delivery confirmation. Include in the returned box original packing note (keep a copy), your full name, address, phone number, e-mail address, time to call and return authorization number.
4. If you have received defective merchandize, you can return it to us for replacement of the same product. Please contact us before taking any further steps. When shipping back to us we would advise using a carrier, where you can track your shipment and the carrier can provide delivery confirmation. After we have received the merchandize, we will inspect it and either repair it or send you a new one, the discretion will be ours.
Shipping and Handling Charge Policy
Our shipping and handling charge policy is geared to shipping the most economical and reliable way and charging the minimum shipping and handling charges.
Shipping and handling charges depend upon the weight, volume and the distance to which the shipment is going, and the fragile nature of the product as well as the mode of shipping.
Domestic Claims Settlement / Shipping via UPS / FedEx :
UPS / FedEx Ground packages are insured for value. Products are shipped freight prepaid. If the product is needed sooner then we can ship Next Day Air, 2 Day Air or 3 Day Select. If there is loss or damage we will refund your loss only when we have received the claim amount from UPS / FedEx.
We will provide tracking numbers upon request. We make every effort to provide these tracking numbers via e-mail and do not take responsibility for any e-mail lost due to inaccurate e-mail addresses or e-mails going to spam folders.
International Shipping via Fed Ex :
We can only offer Fed Ex as a shipper for any order outside the U.S.A.
International shipping will have a higher shipping rate depending on items ordered, weight and destination country. We do not ship via USPS to any International Address due to many lost packages and very poor customer service.
We make every effort to provide tracking numbers via e-mail and do not take responsibility for any e-mail lost due to inaccurate e-mail addresses.
We do not assume any kind of liability of any kind of damage or injury to body or property which may occur by the use of our products. When you buy our products you expressly agree to the above.
Science Lab Supplies is not responsible for any other use of the product other than it is intended to be. Our liability, if at all any is limited to replacement of the product.
All the products should be used with care. Any injuries occurring due to proper or improper use, with care or abuse or carelessness of the user is not the responsibility of Basic Science Supplies, and they will not be held liable.
If any product involves glass or other breakable material, any injuries due to its breaking is not our liability.
The purchaser of our product agrees that Basic Science Supplies, its parent corporation, its successors, heirs and assigns are not responsible or liable in any way for any and all bodily injury(s) and/or property damage that may occur from the use of or caused in any way by the products purchased for any use, whether used properly or mis-used.
In other words our liability of any kind for our products is zero, no liability at all, purchaser buys and uses at their own risk.
